Structure of my working day
I prefer daily meetings to start after 0930. This gives me time to check messages and see how things are going. I also make sure everything is running smoothly in production. I prefer having lunch at the same time every day, usually between 1200-1300, but like the ability to be flexible, so feel free to check my calendar or message me if you're unsure.
I work best when
- Immersing myself in the task at hand, headphones on, notifications muted.
- Breaking down tasks into their 'why' and 'what', understanding their importance to the business and what needs to be achieved.
- Being part of a collaborative, supportive team..
- Building the 'right solution', considering the right level of testing and solid architecture. I also appreciate the need for pragmatism, and I'm open to necessary shortcuts as part of a healthy technical debt conversation.
- There is room for knowledge share and knowledge growth.
I add value to the team by
- Providing consistent and reliable outcomes, I produce high-quality work consistently, ensuring timely and dependable solutions.
- Managing risks effectively which means I identify potential risks early on, enabling us to foresee challenges and put in place effective countermeasures.
- I like to improving processes continually, and seek ways to enhance our workflows and boost efficiency, contributing to the team's overall success.
- Actively focusing on improving the collaborative, inclusive and blameless culture within the team, promoting a positive team dynamic.
- Being the team's biggest cheerleader, always ready to champion our work and contributions to stakeholders.
The best way to give me feedback is
- Honest, constructive criticism. I'm aware I have room to improve, and I appreciate opportunities to learn and grow.
- Written feedback, allowing me to refer, share and utilise it during performance reviews.
- If the feedback requires a nuanced approach or pertains to a sensitive issue, let's chat face-to-face. We can then document it for my records.
- Small, frequent doses of feedback. I'd love to receive microfeedback every few weeks, enabling me to spot trends, track my progress and celebrate my wins!
